Q-Tip & Busta Rhymes Announce Collaborative Mixtape

After over 20 years of collaborations on a litany of albums, features, remixes, and concerts, A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip and Leaders Of The New School’s Busta Rhymes are linking for a mixtape, The Abstract And The Dragon. The December 12 freebie joins Dres and Jarobi’s Evitan album last year as the closest thing to a Native Tongues album Heads will ever get, with A.T.C.Q., L.O.N.S., Black Sheep, Jungle Brothers, Monie Love, De La Soul, and Queen Latifah largely staying in their own pockets for full-lengths.

With both artists now in the UMG umbrella (Busta with Cash Money, and Q-Tip with G.O.O.D. Music), this may be hinting at more to come.

It was six years ago next week that Busta and Mick Boogie shook the game up with Dillagence.
