The Roots’ Never Gets A Live Choral Flip, With DJ A-Trak On The Cut (Video)

Released yesterday, The Roots’ …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin steps further in the direction that the group has been heading since parting ways with MCA/Geffen Records a decade ago. Dark, thoughtful, and often veiled in the perspectives and voices of others, the Philadelphia group is making quite different music in the last decade than they did in the first decade and a half. Getting to be the stars on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, ?uestlove and Black Thought welcome The Metropolis Ensemble and Fool’s Gold Records’ DJ A-Trak to bring “Never” into a different dimension than Heads may hear on the Def Jam-released LP.
