Marsha Ambrosius Blends Jeru, Sade and Dr. Dre on Stronger. Hearing is Believing (Audio)

Marsha Ambrosius gets a rare appearance from Dr. Dre on her latest single, “Stronger.” The track itself completely revamps two classics into one by combining production samples from Jeru The Damaja’s “Come Clean” and a reintroduction of Sade’s infectious hook from her track, “Love is Stronger Than Pride.”

The former Floetry member also recently sat down with Rap-Up to discuss her upcoming album Friends & Lovers, her passion for making music, and her recent work with Dr. Dre and Kanye West. In addition, Marsha explained her need to create a work of visuals for every track on her album.

“I have to make a movie surrounding this album. Everything’s gonna have a video. Everything will have a story behind it. It really is the sequel to what Late Nights & Early Mornings was. Late Nights & Early Mornings resulted in some Friends & Lovers.”

She has also been in the studio with Dr. Dre, not just for to summon his lyrics, but to put in some hard work with him and his production team.

“This is our seventh year. We went to Hawaii just before the end of last year for a couple of weeks and got to really cram in with the production team that he’s got going now, Focus and the squad, so we’ve been working. You’ll get to slowly see the work.”

As for Dre, fans can prepare for a different looking version of the Aftermath captain in the upcoming N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton in which the Beats juggernaut will be played by Corey Hawkins (Iron Man 3) and will also feature Ice Cube’s son O’Shea Jackson Jr. as Cube, and Jason Mitchell will play Eazy-E.

Be sure to hear more from Marsha and Dr. Dre on Friends & Lovers, the sequel to her debut album Late Nights & Early Mornings, July 15.
