Sadat X Talks Brand Nubian, Biggie, ‘Pac & Jay Z On Juan Epstein (Audio)

Sadat X sits down with Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg to listen to some old Sadat cuts and discuss a wide variety of topics including his influences, early stories surrounding Brand Nubian including his initiation with Grand Puba and Lord Jamar and their subsequent ’90s break-up, as well as some tidbits about Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Jay Z and almost signing to Def Jam Records.

One of the more interesting tastes includes a story between Sadat, Diddy, and Biggie. Sadat was living with Regina Hall, who was still in college at Fordham. During that time in 1993, Sadat linked up with Biggie to make the Lord Finesse driven cut, “Come On.” After Diddy cut Sadat an extra check on accident, which Sadat cashed, their relationship soured. Sadat is positive that it would’ve been put on way before Born Again had it not been for the check incident.
