2 Chainz Remakes Michael Jackson’s Thriller Video for Freebase (Video)

On December 2, 1983, arguably one of the most recognized videos of all time was released in the form of the 13 minute music video for Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” It was MTV’s first ever world premiere and it set a precedent for a future that would change the forefront for music video film forever.

To pay homage to the late Michael Jackson and his visual masterpiece, 2 Chainz (and his directorial alter ego Dos Cadenas) revisits the classic visual and recreates a version of his own for the hard hitting, Trap filled cut, “Freebase.” Featured on his latest EP of the same name, the video holds onto the key elements that made “Thriller” great, with enough ghouls, goblins, and a beyond the grave version of 2 Chainz himself.
