If Joell Ortiz’ Original House Slippers Was Too Wavy, Watch Him Tear Down A Coldcut-Style Remix (Video)

Joell Ortiz’s “House Slippers” single from the album of the same name shows a new sound from the Brooklyn, New York MC. While the LP features executive production from !llmind (Skyzoo) and Heatmakerz (The Diplomats), the single suggested a subdued sound from the artist known for his work from DJ Premier, Just Blaze, and Showbiz (among many others).

Well, if the mid’s weren’t your speed, Operator eMZ made a remix, that calls back to a special remix from 28 years ago, surrounding another New York Hip-Hop mainstay, Eric B. & Rakim. eMZ freaks the Coldcut “Paid In Full Remix,” and to make it extra official, Joell kills it in performance mode on DJ Kay Slay’s Serius XM show:
