Preview A$AP Rocky’s Rise To Fame In Upcoming Documentary SVDDXNLY (Video)

It’s clear now why A$AP Rocky and the rest of the Mob decided on their acronym, “Always Strive and Prosper,” as the young Harlem based artistic collective have done nothing but that since their entrance into the limelight a few short years ago.

Unbeknownst to Rocky at the time, a compilation mixtape of his most popular YouTube tracks were released by a fan from Paris in the form of Deep Purple in July of 2011. Already garnering international attention, Rocky’s debut single “Peso” hit the internet just a month later and eventually found it’s way to Hot 97’s airwaves. This was subsequently followed by the release of his music video to the Houston influenced cut, “Purple Swag,” and his mixtape, Live.Love.A$AP, that bolstered Rocky’s position in the game and got him a deal with RCA Records and Polo Grounds Music. The rest is history.

Now, A$AP Rocky and Noisey have linked up to fill in the blanks with the rest of his story in the upcoming documentary film, SVDDXNLY. An official selection for the 2014 South By Southwest Film Festival earlier this year, the film follows Rocky on the road and in his daily life as he, his friends, and family explain the young artist’s past, present, and plans for the future. Take a look and watch out for sightings from the likes of Drake, Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, Riff Raff, and more.
