Follow A$AP Rocky’s Rise To Stardom In SVDDXNLY Pt. 1 (Video)

A$AP Rocky’s ascension to the spotlight has been anything but sudden. Influenced by his older brother, Rocky has been rapping since he was 8 years old and it wasn’t until 2007 that Lord Flacko, A$AP Yams and the introductory members of the A$AP Mob collective linked up for the first time. Now you can follow A$AP Rocky and discover more about his journey to stardom in an all new, 5 part documentary series created by VICE’s Noisey titled, SVDDXNLY.

Coined in honor of an A$AP Rocky track of the same name, part one of SVDDXNLY slides through old photos and interviews with his family, members of his clique, Rocky himself, and even Rihanna to propel his story along.

Some of the most notable morsels from the doc come in the form of Rocky’s youthful dreams of becoming an ice cream truck driver (2:10), to his mother naming him after Rakim of Eric B. and Rakim (4:00), and the behind-the-scenes visuals from three bugged out shows he performed in 2011 at Alife Backyard, Santos Party House, and The Creator’s Project in New York just months before heading out on tour with Drake on his Club Paradise Tour (7:10).
