Wale Is Weaving All Recent Controversy Into Album About Nothing (Video)

When Wale announced The Album About Nothing, many Heads likely thought of the MC’s “Seinfeld”-inspired mixtapes, and thought it a progression back into the pocket that made him a star before his album. However, in an album trailer Album About Nothing may only be a title.

In this three-minute vignette, Wale alludes to his recent troubles with Meek Mill, his lashing out on Complex magazine staff, and an overall sense of lost purpose and connection to his fans. This voice-over addresses everything about Wale that Heads seemed to think that the Maybach Music Group artist might be too distant to feel. He doesn’t.

Having recently left Roc Nation management, facing turmoil within MMG, this album appears to be a tense, critical moment in Wale’s career. After 2013’s The Gifted went #1 but lacked some of the critical acclaim, does Wale have fans right where he wants us, to seemingly make right?
