DJ Premier Unleashes A Gang Starr Tape Of B-Sides, Rarities & Remixes (Mixtape)
Today (October 24), DJ Premier opened up the online Gang Starr merchandise store through his PremierWuzHere website. With an assortment of shirts, hats, hoodies, and more—exclusively set up by the Texan-turned-New Yorker, sharing its proceeds with the family of late partner Guru, Preem got behind the wheels of steel to go back in his 1989-2004 vaults in celebration of one of music’s greatest groups.
However, don’t expect one of those basic, mixed greatest hits compilations…
As Premier explained, “This free download is for the true Gang Starr heads that not only love the classic singles, but love the rarely played album cuts, B-Sides, rare collabo’s and not your regularly mixed records” Premier states. “We wanted something to go along with the launch of our Official Gang Starr Shop and we will continue to keep the legacy going. Shouts to Guru and Lil Guru (KC), Lana, Justin, the whole Elam family and the Gang Starr Foundation for staying strong throughout the whole loss of our soldier, father, lyricist and MC. Love can never be shattered and that’s what we bring everyday, all day.”
