The second iteration of Arsenio Hall’s show left the air quietly, after an announcement just weeks before that the show had been renewed. However, it was a very different story the first time Arsenio parted ways with the airwaves. After five years of providing one of the only platforms on television for Rap music, Hip-Hop came out in full effect to send off the late night talk show pioneer. Here’s a look back at the cypher to end all cyphers, featuring Yo-Yo, MC Lyte, Treach, A Tribe Called Quest, Fu-Schnickens, CL Smooth, GURU, Das EFX, Wu-Tang Clan, KRS-One and Mad Lion.
