Being reunited may feel so good. Now, however, Jodeci is faced with delivering new sounds to a generation that they helped make (possibly in the literal sense, with their Quiet Storm omnipresence).

K-Ci, JoJo, DeVante and Mr. Dalvin pay close attention to their legacy and patchwork of ’90s sounds in “Every Moment.” Yet, the song—especially in its lyrics and writing—sounds very fresh and contemporary. The legions of dirty-talkin’ crooners that Jodeci inspired have a hard time touchin’ a vibe like this, which can only mean that the quartet is poised with the right timing to return to form.
