During an appearance on NYC’s Hot 97 in 2011, Kanye West spoke on what artists he liked at the time and one name was front and center: JOELL ORTIZ. Ye, spoke extensively about Ortiz’s talent, elaborating on the Slaughterhouse member’s rhyme technique and even referencing specific lines.

Years later, Joell has released a song showcasing the sizable talent Kanye was referencing and, for emphasis, he uses Kanye’s praises as the chorus. Check out “Appreciate Ya.”
