Jill Scott Brings Down The House & The Tears In Her Grand Return (Video)

Jill Scott is something special. While the signs of Spring typically conjure up songs about new love, lust, or at least the pursuit—”Jilly from Philly” knows that not all are so lucky. Presumably marching towards her first album since 2011’s The Light Of The Sun, the Atlantic/Warner Bros. Records star may have a body of work dedicated to the disappointments of love.

“Don’t Know” applies Scott’s wisdom of the subject of heartbreak, as the classic Soul-feeling song shines a light on the heartbreak, the pain, and the unexpected loss of giving somebody your all. A gold artist in all of her four albums (along with the multi-platinum distinction of her debut), could this be a crossover hit for the crooner who has lived through divorce and break-ups in her personal life? According to her (rather scarce) Instagram and tweets, the album may be focused on heartbreak.
