Kendrick Lamar Announces Album Release Date and Title. Here’s the Story (News)

Few albums have been more anticipated in the last year than Kendrick Lamar‘s long-awaited follow up to his debut major label release, good kid, m.A.A.d. city. Well, the wait is over, almost…A little over 20 minutes ago, Kendrick tweeted out a link and nothing else. The link takes the user to an iTunes page that has the title of the album (sort of) and a track listing with no titles except his explosive song “The Blacker the Berry.” There is also an expected arrival date of March 23rd listed.

The name of the album appears to be [Untitled], and the artwork is simply an all-black cover. Fans may recall Kendrick performed a song called “Untitled,” as the last musical guest on The Colbert Report back in December of 2014. Although Kendrick has subsequently stated the song might not be on his album, this suggests that song might be a part of the body of work.

It’s also unclear whether “i,” Kendrick’s high profile release from the Fall will be a part of the project. Fresh off his Grammy win in February, 2015 is shaping up to be a big year for Kendrick Lamar.
