Sean Price, for 20 years deep in the game being arguably the sharpest lyricist within Boot Camp Clik, isn’t somebody who loves grand explanations. After all, 10 years ago, the Heltah Skeltah MC made an incredible comeback with a straightforward, deadpan, and self-deprecating LP in Monkey Barz. While there were themes to the Duck Down Records work, looking for high concept and over-arching purpose will get Heads nowhere.

These days, the Brownsville street rapper simply drops freestanding songs, often with no chorus or main point, just eloquent bars. “#4NoReason” is just as it says.
