The Game Reveals Details About The Documentary 2 Including Its Release Date (Video)

Last Summer, Game heated things up when he put some hard and fast details to his plans to make a sequel to his breakthrough major label debut, 2005’s The Documentary. The Compton, California MC confirmed that Dr. Dre (whose relationship with Game since has been speckled in hiatuses and reunions), Scott Storch, and Just Blaze were among those who would make a reprise appearance on the sequel.

Today, some new footage captured by Puff Daddy’s Revolt TV from a few months back, has Game giving the green light on a release date: June 30.

Allegedly a Cash Money Records artist now, could Birdman’s imprint possibly house a sequel release to a jewel in the Aftermath Entertainment (and G-Unit Records) catalog—with Dre’s involvement? Game recently appeared alongside Dre in a Straight Outta Compton commercial/film trailer.

Sequel-themed albums have done wonders for Raekwon, Nas, and of course, Lil Wayne. Other artists have suffered not only misfires in attempting sequels, but upset fans. How do you think The Documentary 2 will fare?

In other news, Game has beaten Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne to advance to Round 3 in Ambrosia For Heads’ “Finding The GOAT…” bracket series. That feat places the Black Wall Street founder with the user-decided Top 42 MCs.
