There’s a Reason Why Nas Signed Bishop Nehru. Just Listen (Audio)

Imagine you’re an 18-year old up and coming MC and you get the opportunity to work with DOOM…and Nas decides to sign you. Those dreams come true represent just a portion of the good tidings that have come to Bishop Nehru over the last few years.

The Rockland County, NY MC, who has been rapping for a mere five years, has revitalized the dominant New York sound popularized in the mid-90s, along with peers like Joey Bada$$ and Astro. Similarly to those MCs, however, he has taken that tradition and evolved it with his own imprint.

After working with DOOM on their joint project Nehruvian DOOM, it appears some of the masked man’s production skills may have rubbed off on Bishop as he assumes duties behind the mic and the boards on his latest release. The track for “Harmony in a Glass” sounds inspired by another 90s luminary–J. Dilla. Nas must be proud. Take a listen.
