If There Was Ever a Question About Ludacris’ Lyricism, It Stops With This Intro (Video)

Much of the press around Ludacris’ new Ludaversal album has centered around his renewed focus on lyricism on the project. Luda, himself, has spoken about believing he’s been underrated as an MC over the years and that this album is about honesty and lyrical ability.

No song makes his intent more abundantly clear than the “Ludaversal Intro,” which kicks off the album. Luda gets straight to the point with his very first line, stating “Ain’t nobody ___ing with me when it come to getting lyrical, murdering a rapper and when it comes to killing beats…” And, from there, he shifts into high gear.

Now, ‘Cris has released a visual that is consistent with the no-nonsense tone of the song and album. There are no women, flashy cars or crazy antics. There’s just Luda, with minimal lights, in an abandoned warehouse, going back to basics, reminiscent of what Rocky did when it was time to get serious. It’s not going to be an easy fight for anybody who wants it with Luda on the mic. Check out the video.
