Moka Only & Illa J Team Up To Deliver A Smooth Jam For The Ladies (Audio)

Today (May 8) Moka Only released a new album called Chicken Wingz on Self Serve Records, the first release on the newly formed, Vancouver-based label. The lead single from the album features label mate Illa J rapping with Moka on a smooth, relaxing, J Dilla-esque production called “Freak Ya Heart Out.” Listen to the track below:

For those who aren’t familiar, Moka Only is a Juno Award-winning MC from Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada, who has released over 70 solo albums since 1995. He was formerly part of Swollen Members with Prevail & Madchild, with whom he won three consecutive Juno Awards for Best Rap Recording from 2001-2003. Heads will likely recognize him from their 2001 hit “Fuel Injected,” or 2002’s “Bring It Home.”

Moka’s latest album is entirely self-produced and was recorded in his home studio in Vancouver. He simply says “I made some beats, ate some chicken and did some other things and here’s the result. It’s pretty much the best thing you could ask for.” Chicken Wingz is currently available for download here.
