YG Shot Three Times in a Los Angeles Recording Studio.

According to reports, YG was shot three times at approximately 1:45am PST (6/12) in a Los Angeles recording studio. TMZ cites law enforcement officials as saying the Compton MC was struck all three times in the hip, but was able to get into his car where he was driven to a hospital. Police reportedly found several shell casings and blood at the scene of the crime. The injuries are said not to be life-threatening and YG allegedly has been “very uncooperative” with the police.

This is not the first time shots have been fired at the rapper whose My Krayzie Life album was one of the top selling of 2014 in Rap, led by the platinum single, “My Nigga.” In 2012, gunfire erupted during a video shoot for his song “I’m a Thug,” though no one was hurt in that incident. YG, who has long been reported to be a member of the Westside Piru Treetop Bloods, also was the center of another altercation in 2011 when his San Diego show was shut down after fights broke out involving several alleged members of a rival Crips gang. No details have emerged as to whether today’s shooting was gang-related.

Neither YG nor his representatives have confirmed or commented on the shooting, as of yet. His last tweet from approximately 2pm PST yesterday (6/11) simply read “WESTSIDE.”
