A$AP Rocky & Rod Stewart Perform “Everyday” Together, In A Luxury SUV (Video)

One of the cooler new segments on TV is funnyman James Cordon’s “Carpool Karaoke.” Rather than the cliche on-stage performance, the British host for “The Late Late Show” drives around, and picks up celebrity musician guests for a little car-concert. Cordon’s Range Rover picks up a fellow countryman in Rod Stewart. The 70 year-old icon hops in, and describes his rowdy days rollin’ with the Small Faces. Cordon probes a bit about trashed hotel rooms and groupies, and Stewart plays it coy.

After the pair sing a standard Stewart made famous in “The First Cut Is The Deepest” (also popularized by its writer, Cat Stevens and more recently, Sheryl Crow), the host flips on his radio to hear “Everyday.” The A$AP Rocky single, which samples (as a feature credit) Rod, prompts the “Maggie May” singer to croon his part, before Harlem’s latest superstar delivers his bars before skipping out at the next light. Rod and Jim keep on truckin’, with some more funny-business and singing.

Cool concept?
