Brother Ali Makes An Incredibly Soulful Song About Love, Life & Suffering (Audio)

Brother Ali is a bull in the booth. From his government indictments to good ol’ battle-rap bravado, the Twin Cities Rhymesayer can move the crowd through shock and awe with the microphone. However, the independent mainstay can also show a ton of vulnerability in his songs, and make the kind of music (as heard in the iconic “Forest Whitiker”) that influenced a generation of MCs to be more fearless in their verses.

“The Feeling Of Flying” is actually a guest spot for Ali. The Rhymesayers Entertainment veteran teams with Fresno, California producer Markis Precise to drop the title track from his Ineffable Music album. In the moment, Ali just lets loose, about love, suffering, and where his life is today, thanks to a list of people. The song is heavily melodic, as is Ali’s delivery. Markis creates a dreamy, Jazz-informed backdrop for the track. The results are refreshing.

The Feeling Of Flying (July 28) features Fashawn, Ras Kass, Elzhi, and Gift Of Gab.
