King Magnetic may be a newer name to some, however the Allentown, Pennsylvania native has been active on the charts. The onetime Reef The Lost Cauze protege joined the East Coast Hardcore Rap collective Army Of The Pharaohs for 2010’s The Unholy Terror and 2014’s In Death Reborn, both of which garnered Top 200 debuts on the charts.

Having worked with Edo G., Sean Price, and Chino XL, Magnetic released his studio debut, Timing Is Everything earlier this month. A centerpiece on the album is “Status,” produced by DJ Premier. The song is a fitting message from the 6’9″, 400 pound MC. While the name may be new to some, perhaps signifying a new artist status, Mag’ has reached peaks that high-status peers could only dream of. With a supreme chop, Preemo laces the piano-driven beat with a hard-hitting scratch chorus.
