If Raekwon Was a Super Hero, He Would Help People Help Themselves (Video)

“Give a person a fish and you feed him or her for a day. Teach a person to fish and you feed him or her for a lifetime.” To many, Raekwon is already a super hero, at least as an MC. But, what would the Wu-Tang Clan veteran do if he actually had super hero powers?

In the 20th anniversary year of the release of his landmark Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… album, Rae sat down with Complex and explained what his persona would be as a super hero. The Chef expanded in great detail, saying his name would be “King Kwon,” a fly guy with a cape and “the ill Nikes on,” and he would be there for the people that are “doing things for themselves.” In a poignant example, Raekwon says he would give an unfortunate kid who wanted to be a writer all the tools he needed to become great. He also expounds on his sidekick, “Eraserhead,” who would be at his side to help with “wiping out all suckers.” Rae details some of his special weapons and the villains he would fight. “I want to be that kind of super hero that gives people who don’t have hope, hope,” says Raekwon.

His off the cuff, yet incredibly creative and thoughtful words are accompanied by animation, as he speaks. The ease with which he outlines the concept is a testament to the multiple facets of his artistic mind.
