After an extended hiatus, Warren G has had a musical renaissance this Summer. Earlier this month, he released his Regulate…G Funk Era, Pt. II EP, which featured three songs with previously unreleased Nate Dogg vocals. As he makes the rounds in promotion of the EP, he stopped by DJ Booth to kick a quick freestyle.

Flowing over the DJ Big Fruit-produced instrumental for K. Camp’s “Comfortable,” Warren is exactly that. He’s laid-back and enjoying the moment while he does a true “off the top” freestyle that is pure stream of consciousness. Though the track was originally for another MC, it sounds tailor-made for the G-Child and is reminiscent of the soulful and melodic tracks he, himself, has produced over the years.
