When Big K.R.I.T. & 8Ball Come Together, Trunks Rattle (Audio)

Fresh off of yesterday’s “86” birthday party, Big K.R.I.T. returns with another car tune. Teaming with one of his leading inspirations and ongoing collaborators in 8Ball, Krizzle also welcomes Scotty ATL to “Grippin’ Grain.” South Carolina’s DJ Scream orchestrates the track, produced by UGK close affiliate Cory Mo.

The resulting song has those warm organ accents, with slamming bass intended for trunks loaded with tweeters and amps. Three MCs from across the Southern states vibe out to a song about feeling like a king behind a custom steering wheel, much in the vain of Underground Kingz, Nappy Roots, and ‘Ball & G. The song’s theme may be simple, but it’s got that “slab music” soul and style.
