Travis $cott’s Rodeo has been one of the most exciting debut albums—not only of 2015, but in some time. The Epic Records MC/singer/producer brought a ton of rawness to his Top 3 charting LP, which was largely held down by veteran producer Mike Dean (Scarface, Kanye West, Tha Dogg Pound). Scott’s longtime G.O.O.D. Music affiliate culminates on the Kanye West-assisted “Piss On Your Grave.”

Not pulling any punches in the title, the single attacks a number of oppressive forces in Scott’s and West’s lives. In the NABIL-directed video, both artists are seen with clenched jaws as they cantankerously deliver their bars in the woods. Later revealed to be standing on the edge of a grave that is not human-sized, it’s clear there are bigger things with which these men want to even the score. At a time when so many are seething towards oppressors (human and institutional), this may be another case of two artists capturing the zeitgeist.
