Royce Da 5’9″, Pharoahe Monch & D12’s Denaun Demolish a Track With Bars That Cook (Video)

Fans are often told to stand up for Hip-Hop, but it’s increasingly rare that songs are of a quality that leave the listener with no choice but to rise from the seat in a salutation to what is emanating from the speaker. Denaun Porter’s aptly-titled “Cooking” is one such track. The former D12 member, who is also known as Mr. Porter, has assembled two of Hip-Hop’s most fearsome MCs in Royce Da 5’9″ and Pharoahe Monch, to turn up the heat with flaming bars. In addition to sharing duties on the mic with the duo, Denauan produced a track that fuses elements of Hip-Hop and EDM and which gives each MC plenty of room to exercise breath control in between beats. The result is a song that jumps out of the pan and into the fire.

For the video, dEnAuN and director Stack Moses have created an animation that both provides humor and accentuates each MC’s peppered verse. It starts with some comical dialogue between Denaun and Marv Won about setting up a video shoot, with a cameo from Hannibal Burress in between. The visual then shifts to an animation of the actual video shoot, which features appearances by Royce and Pharoahe, as well as cameos by Eminem, Tiara and more.

Take a look and listen.
