YG has had a tumultuous 2015. In June, he was shot 3 times while in the studio, but was able to make it to his own car to be taken to the hospital. By July, he had recovered enough to release the lead single from his forthcoming Still Krazy album. That song, “Twist My Fingaz,” was a G-Funk inspired record that interpolated Funkadelic’s timeless “One Nation Under A Groove.” Now, nearly 5 months later, he releases another taste of what to expect from his new project.

“I Wanna Benz” is an additional dose of YG’s new brand of G-Funk. The track opens with the audio from a classic scene in Menace II Society, before diving into a funky rolling bassline, accented by trademark high synths. YG is joined on the track by Crenshaw’s Nipsey Hussle and the relative OG, 50 Cent. Take a listen.
