A$AP Ferg & ScHoolboy Q Flash Back To 1996 With O.D.B.’s Son (Video)

A$AP Ferg just premiered his Always Strive And Prosper (April 22) single, “Let It Bang.” Assisted by ScHoolboy Q, the song examines the ruggedness within both MC’s families, and how addiction, incarceration, and the wild life were impressed upon Ferg and Quincy at a ripe, young age.

Less than 24 hours later, the video comes from Ferg’s sophomore major label LP. To catch the vibe of going back to those young days, the Wu-Wear and Avirex jackets come out, the Ruff Ryders chain medallions. Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s son, Young Dirty Bastard joins Ferg and Q as a character (“Psycho”) in the visual. The whole affair is filmed quite beautifully, with tons of color, precise lighting, and tracking shots in Harlem, New York as well as on a sound-stage.

Just as OXYMORON was a pivotal breakout for Q, this single suggests that even with Trap Lord‘s charms, this album may be a broader and louder statement for one of A$AP Mob’s most animated and lyrical figures.

Always Strive And Prosper.
