BJ The Chicago Kid & Kendrick Lamar Fight Hannibal Buress’ Cupid With An Old-Fashioned Love Song (Video)

Ever think about the kind of chaos that could happen if Cupid went rogue? That’s exactly what happens in BJ The Chicago Kid’s video for “The New Cupid.” The song is a throwback old school Soul ballad, with BJ joined by Kendrick Lamar on a verse and Raphael Saadiq on guitar. The premise is that Cupid is dead (or at least not about his business), so BJ is fighting the good fight for love, through song.

In the video, the role of Cupid is assumed by the ever irreverent Hannibal Buress. Buress is on a rampage throughout, paying a stripper to make a surprise visit to one couple and whipping up a special “lemonade” for two other love birds. Buress’ hijinks are foiled throughout, by various characters, including one played by Iamsu, but it is the timeless love song that transcends all. Both Lamar and Saadiq also make appearances in a visual that is a real show of strength for BJ.
