Token Says He IS The Underground And He Has The Bars To Prove It (Video)

In less than one year, Token has become of the most exciting unsigned artists in Hip-Hop. In March, he was prominently featured alongside Joell Ortiz in the That’s Hip-Hop album with Domingo. There, Toke’ represented a delegate of the new school MCs who is taking the craft of rapping, and charging it full of creativity and energy.

New single “Necessary Evil” is the latest glimpse of the maniacal, didactic delivery of the Massachusetts MC. Produced by Nottz (Ghostface Killah, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes), the video shows some special effects, illustrating just how Token’s barbaric bars can flip day to night and beckon a thunderstorm of applause. Graffiti is the backdrop, to indicate that thisĀ is pure Hip-Hop. Within the verses, he professes, “I am the underground!” As the latest MC Hip-Hop Heads are getting to know and studying intently, he has a point.
