All Eyez Can Watch A Trailer To Tupac Shakur’s Biopic (Video)

After years of development, the Tupac Shakur biopic is completed. Today (June 16) would have been the music and film star’s 45th birthday.

In conjunction, All Eyez On Me unveils its first official film trailer. The Morgan Creek Production is said to reach theater screens on November 11, 2016—more than 20 years after Shakur’s murder in Las Vegas, Nevada. The film, directed by veteran music video creator Benny Boom, stars Demetrius Shipp, Jr. as Shakur. Jamal “Gravy” Woolard will play The Notorious B.I.G. for the second time in his acting career (following 2009’s Biggie biopic Notorious). The Walking Dead actress Danai Gurira will play ‘Pac’s mother, Afeni Shakur. Last month, Ms. Shakur died from a heart attack in California.

The trailer features elements of “Ambitionz Az A Ridah,” the opening track from the diamond-certified 1996 double-album, All Eyez On Me. The one minute trailer traces Shakur’s rise to stardom, his troubles with the law, and more.

L.T. Hutton, who worked with Death Row Records as an executive and producer during Shakur’s time at the label, is one of the film’s producers.

Another former Death Row producer, Daz Dillinger, is also working on an upcoming biopic on the label’s rise and fall. He has confirmed casting an actor to play Shakur.
