Joe Budden has said that he wants the rhymes (and beats) to be front-and-center on his Rage & The Machine album (October 21). So for the video to sophomore single “By Law,” it is all about simple-yet-effective. The visuals match the energy of the music and, in a sense, the artist himself. It features Joe, album producer araabMUZIK and more than a few models largely in silhouette — perhaps referencing “Lady Justice,” who is usually depicted wearing a blindfold. Regardless, the straightforward treatment is indeed fitting for an MC who came to do only one thing: out-rap the competition.

Rage… also features Budden’s Slaughterhouse band-mate Joell Ortiz. The LP marks a move to Joe’s own Mood Muzik imprint, distributed by EMPIRE.
