Alchemist & Curren$y Recruit Major Producers As Accomplices For “Heist” Remix (Audio)

In February of this year, Curren$y and Alchemist masterminded The Carrollton Heist. The New Orleans, Louisiana MC and Venice, California-based produced offered 12 tracks featuring Action Bronson, Styles P, and Spitta’s onetime mentor Lil Wayne.

Curren$y & Alchemist Re-Up On A New Mixtape Featuring Action Bronson & Styles P

As ALC seemingly maintains so many of his side catalogs (music with Prodigy, Bronson, Gangrene, etc.), he leads a rework of the whole project with new beats and touches. Take “Vibrations,” a lyrical homage to Juvenile’s “Ha” (who was once a label-mate of Currens$y’s). On the ALC original, the track is a slow Jazz nod. On the Budgie remix, it takes a softer, more late ’70s bend, with a whole different feel on the same signature lyrics. Of the 10 tracks redone for the Heist remix, producers besides Alan include his Gangrene partner Oh No, his Stepbrothers partner Evidence, NxWorries’ Knxledge, Earl Sweatshirt, and Jake One, among others.
