Better Bundle Up. State Property’s Freeway & Young Chris Rap So Cold (Video)

Last month, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s State Property appeared to largely reunite on the largest stage in close to a decade. Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Peedi Crakk, Omillio Sparks, and Need Buck lit up the BET Hip Hop Awards with a cypher that likely had a few Heads throwing up the R-O-C at their television screens. Young Chris (formerly of the Young Gunz) was one of the absences from the high profile moment for the former Roc-A-Fella Records unit. According to Peedi, Chris (aka Gunna) was home welcoming a newborn son—but remains very much active with S.P.

On “So Cold,” it is abundantly clear that State Prop’ still gets the props. Freezer and Chris (both of whom retain close ties to Roc Nation) rap with tenacity on a standout bass-driven beat. The song is a reminder that these two Philly spitters are survivors of a different era and some treacherous streets. They urge listeners to keep things in perspective and navigate the world with care.

The Symphony 2016 ft Kane, G Rap, Royce, Monch, Black Thought, Freeway & More (Video)

As a note for those following, this track has nothing in common with the 2014 Freeway track of the same name. There is no word, as of yet if this song is a first of more to come.
