Method Man, Redman & Masta Killa Bring Some Much Needed Therapy To Hip-Hop (Video)
By anyone’s standards, Method Man, Redman, and Masta Killa are three MCs whose decades in Hip-Hop make them legends. Without much fanfare, they are able to provide Heads with the kind of raps it takes lesser MCs years to develop, and they’ve been doing it since the 1990s. Now, in 2017, the trio has emerged with a no-frills music video that lets their rhymes speak for themselves, all while capturing the energy three veterans are still capable of bringing to the mic.
Masta Killa Is Releasing A New Album. Method Man & Redman Join Him On His 1st Single (Audio)
“Therapy” is one of 2016’s Adult Swim Singles offerings, but the PF Cuttin’-produced record is gaining new life this year thanks to its visual accompaniment. Directed by Method Man himself and captured by U-God’s son Mr. Hawkins, the video follows MK and he hits the studio with Meth, while Red if found elsewhere, surrounded by images of his extended family, the Wu-Tang Clan. Shot entirely in black-and-white, it’s a subdued snapshot into a powerful collaboration, but it’s not without its humor (check out the time stamp at the very end of the video).
“Therapy” is also the lead single from Masta Killa’s forthcoming album Loyalty is Royalty, coming soon via Nature Sounds. In the meantime, Heads can pre-order a copy of “Therapy” on 7″ vinyl.
