Diggin’ In The Crates veteran O.C. has a new album arriving later this month. Same Moon Same Sun (January 30) follows a rich pedigree that includes at least two cult-championed independent albums. The MC who grew up in both Queens and Brooklyn, New York uses his lead single “Serious” to drop some heavy mental fodder.

Approaching the week a new US President takes office, O’ professes that we are all bearing witness to some severe paradigm shifts in the world. From corner stores killing us with high doses of sugar to a boom in violence, people wrongfully dying in police custody to a rise in suicide rates, the D.I.T.C. member examines several troubling trends. Many of last year’s D.I.T.C. Sessions compilation featured similar introspective verses from the onetime Hieroglyphics Emporium artist.
