R.A. The Rugged Man & Psycho Les Drop Back To The Future Bars (Video)

Last year, The Beatnuts’ Psycho Les released his Dank God, Vol. 1 album on his own Pit Fight imprint. The Corona, Queens veteran MC/producer enlisted help from Alchemist, Kool Keith, Inspectah Deck, Vinnie Paz, Pete Rock, and many others.

One of the standout moments, however is “Ba Ba Barz.” Featuring R.A. The Rugged Man, the song uses a Beach Boys-era Surf Rock harmonic riff and uses it to punctuate verses that are big on punchlines, deep pop culture references, and that slick New York City talk that both men have been about since the early 1990s.

For the video, Les and R.A. dress up in Grease-era outfits, complete with Elvis Presley-style hairdoos. They travel back to the drive-in, sock-hop, and Nifty Fifties era to show how just like finned fenders, leather jackets, and burger and milkshake joints, lyricism is timeless.

The ‘Nuts, Rapper Big Pooh, and Termanology are on tour, beginning tomorrow (January 2).
