Big Boi Is Releasing A New Album. His Song With Killer Mike & Jeezy Is A Monster Start (Audio)

While Big Boi has stayed more active in music than his OutKast partner Andre 3000 since they split, it’s been 5 years since Daddy Fat Sacks released a solo album. In 2015, he teamed with Phantogram for their joint LP, Big Grams, but that was very much a collaborative project in its sound. Things are about to change, as Big Boi has announced the release of Boomiverse, his third solo effort.

Big Boi & Killer Mike Are Working On A Joint EP

While the release date for the album has not been disclosed yet, Big Boi did share via Instagram that 2 new singles would arrive today. True to his word, they have surfaced. “Mic Jack” features Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, and sports an Electro Funk dance feel. The second track falls on the opposite end of the spectrum, with Big’s fellow Atliens Killer Mike and Jeezy going to work on “Kill Jill,” with its soulful bounce. While Mike provides an entire verse, Jeezy only participates on the song’s hook. The song may provide a preview as to how the long rumored Big Boi & Killer Mike joint EP might sound.
