DMX & The LOX To Headline 2017 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival (Video)

Last night (April 21), the Ruff Ryders reunited on the stages of Brooklyn, New York’s Barclays Center. DMX, Eve, Swizz Beatz and others celebrated nearly 20 years of guttural street music from the New York City collective that also spawned the careers of The LOX, Drag-On, Cassidy, and others.

While the Barclays stage was ripped in April, some of the Ruff Ryders’ biggest acts will be returning in July. The Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival has announced its lineup for its 13th annual summer showcase. Headliners for the weekend of July 16 concert include DMX and The LOX trio of Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch. The legendary Rakim will also be involved in the week through a “#ForTheCulture Conversations” presentation on Monday July 10. Back on the concert side, J. Cole’s Dreamville roster of Omen, Cozz, and Bas also will take the stage as part of a label showcase set.

DJ performers within the events beginning July 10 include Stretch & Bobbito, Mister Cee, and Rob Swift. Additional performers are said to be added in the coming weeks. Last week, LOX member Styles P released The Seven EP with past BKHHF performer Talib Kweli.
