Conway & Westside Gunn Slow It Down But Keep It Grimy On A Soulful Alchemist Beat (Audio)

Hall N’ Nash, aka Buffalo, New York brothers Conway and Westside Gunn, are back at it for the addicts over a soulful Alchemist beat. The recent Shady Records signees have been working with the legendary producer heavy, as of late, reportedly recording an entire project with him in only two days, last year. Though its eventual release was promised when the Shady deal was announced, whether or not it will actually see light is speculative as no official date has been mentioned. Regardless, in the meantime, they have provided a little taste of what could come, on “A Thousand Birds.”

One of six singles to be released on 45” vinyl off ALC’s collaborative project with Budgie, The Good Book Vol. 2, their delivery is super grimy (in the best way possible). This is rugged Rap, juxtaposed nicely by Al’s choppy, soulful sampling.

The Good Book’s second installment also features Mobb Deep, Royce 5’9, Meyhem Lauren, Action Bronson, Your Old Droog, Evidence and more. It is a limited edition 45 track double CD, released in the form of an actual book, with the producers using entirely religious-themed samples.
