Erick Sermon, Raekwon & N.O.R.E. Remind MCs They Fathered Their Styles (Audio)

After nearly 18 months of anticipation, Erick Sermon is releasing his eighth solo album later this week. On April 19, The Green-Eyed Bandit will drop Vernia, named after the legendary Brentwood, Long Island MC/producer’s late grandmother.

Following February’s “That Girl,” featuring Big K.R.I.T., Erick is unleashing a new single. This one, produced by Def Squad Studios affiliate Boogeyman, features Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon and N.O.R.E. Chef Rae’ kicks things off over a sweet Soul loop, announcing that he’s fathered many MCs style. E-Double follows with a balance of braggadocio and wordplay that he has been feeding the masses for more than 30 years. N.O. closes out the collaboration with a message about how he has been to weather the trends of Rap music. Like Rae’ and Erick, he feels as though he deserves Fathers Day cards in the mailbox every June, from plenty of MCs. The Capone-N-Noreaga member also drops some of that witty wordplay that makes his personality a fit far beyond music.

Erick Sermon Is Back To Give Rap What It’s Been Missing With His New Song

Previously, E worked with Raekwon on the “It’s My Thing” freestyle nod to EPMD in addition to other work, including Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2. He linked with Noreaga alongside 50 Cent on “Da Heatwave.”

As Erick Sermon recently told Ambrosia For Heads in a new video available at AFH TV, Vernia also involves Too Short, Devin The Dude, No Malice, K.R.I.T., Pharrell, Styles P, AZ, Shaquille O’Neal, Xzibit, and David Banner. Last month, Erick released “Give It To Em” with DJ Gumba.
