Many moons ago, Detroit, Michigan’s 14KT was in a group alongside Mayer Hawthorne in Athletic Mic League. The group disbanded for solo pursuits, but hopefully becomes an increasing talking-point (like Children Of The Corn, 213, or Cash Money Clique). 14KT is now releasing his latest LP, Nickel & Dimed. Black Milk, Kokane (that’s right, Funk Upon A Rhyme ‘Kane), and Blu appear. The last appears on “PAID,” which has a nice ’80s-inspired backdrop.
