To me, this sounds like a hybrid of DJ Quik and J Dilla, with a nice composition for two rising features. That being said, Terrace Martin is completely his own man, and one of the most exciting producers in Southern California since the ’90s. His 3ChordFold is out next week on Empire Distribution. That’s money worth spending, as the musicality of Terrace shows his versatility. This is somebody who I truly believe could become a household name in five years, and all of us will be going back to his mixtapes and a la carte work wondering how ever we could’ve missed it.
