This is pretty cool. J-Live left Brooklyn for Atlanta a few years back (with some time in Philadelphia, in between). The DJ/MC/Producer (Triple Threat) heard one of the year’s biggest radio records in B.o.B’s 2Chainz-assisted “Headband.” Having worked with iconic producers such as DJ Premier, Prince Paul, Pete Rock and 88-Keys, J-Live heard something he liked in DJ Mustard’s latest Ratchet beat. He hopped on, and obliterated the track—showing that you can still have catchy, lyrical Rap. It’s great to see rappers step outside of themselves and fight the beat into submission. Moreover, this sounds like a real freestyle. #Skills.
