Mack Wilds – Keepin’ It Real

We told you recently that Mack Wilds was working with an arsenal of Heads-heralded producers including Salaam Remi and DJ Premier. Premo’s fansite announced that “Keepin’ It Real” is produced by the pair, who both contributed joints to Nas’ Stillmatic album 12 years ago. Reports claim that Remi laced the beat (which truly sounds very Premo-esque), and Works Of Mart came in for the mastering and those signature scratches (which seem to be a call-back to Group Home’s “Tha Realness” routine, as well as “You Know My Steez”). No matter, we had to share this loosie that gets you up out of your seat for a rugged-never-smooth style that appeals to a wide spectrum of music fans. This is wildly encouraging to listen to, and an inclusion on New York: A Love Story.
