Few Hip-Hop groups have faced more hardship than Slum Village. J Dilla and Baatin have passed away well-before their times. Elzhi left on difficult terms with management, as did makeshift member/B.R. Gunna-part Black Milk left and found tremendous solo success. Now with founding member T3, Dilla’s brother Illa J, and the other half of B.R. Gunna in Young RJ, the Villa is in tact—and making some really strong music. The trio did the ol’ No Limit Records double-half-video move for their Evolution single. While Blu’s not in the video version of “Let It Go,” ears benefit from “Greatness.”
