Smif N Wessun Return To Their Reggae Roots With Jahdan On Shots In The Dark (Audio)

From the days of Nervous and Weeded Records, Smif N Wessun helped usher in a mid-’90s fusion of Hip-Hop and Reggae/Dancehall that also included KRS-One, Prince Ital Joe, Mad Lion, Afu-Ra, Capleton, and The Fugees. Tek and General Steele keep it Brooklyn, but team with Jahdan for “Shots In The Dark.” From the veteran Boot Camp Clik pair’s Born & Raised EP, this early single, like the rest of the extended play, is produced by K-Salaam & Beatnik out of Canada. That duo is known for their Caribbean influence in their sound.

Tek & Steele have now made full projects with K-Salaam & Beatnik, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, and their unmistakable 1995 debut, Dah Shinin’, with Da Beatminerz.
